This year has presented everyone with many challenges, as we struggle to come to terms with what is possibly the most unprecedented series of events any of us can remember.
Towan Blystra Lions continue to work as a strong community group offering support to residents throughout this period of uncertainty, providing both physical and financial support for people in need in our local area.
A large part of the money we distribute to local good causes is raised at our annual Charity Beer Festival and I know that, for many of you, this now forms a major part of your social calendar and you will have been looking forward to supporting us again in September.
As a Co-Director, I can assure you that there would be nothing I would like better than to announce that the Festival will be going ahead as in previous years but, at this moment in time, I cannot offer that assurance.
What I can say is that we are monitoring the situation and keeping all our options open. We are looking at several possible ways, working within the Government guidelines, in which we can deliver our Festival, utilising the facilities offered by the owners at Hendra.
Perhaps our Festival will offer a chance for us to celebrate the end of Lockdown restrictions or simply celebrate some sort of return to normality.
What I can say is that we will be making a final decision on how we intend to proceed at the end of May, and we will keep you fully updated on both Social Media and via this website.
In the meantime, thank you for your continued support and please stay safe.
Lion Andy Hannan -Festival Co-Director.
